I was invited to Milva Zanetta's "laboratory of signs" for an aperitif and some chat. This place is magic. A couple of rooms, a corridor and a staircase, transformed into an atelier / laboratory / exhibition of multiple forms of art.
Milva is a very private person, but she likes to talk about hers Signs.
"The desire to mess around, create, paint and give shape to my imagination, has belonged to me since I was a child. The cellar was my place of creation where, with friends from the nearby courtyards, we gathered to manipulate the clay, play with different materials such as papers and fabrics, or for painting or drawing. Growing up I directed my interests towards more concrete projects, according to the common belief. But the years have not stifled my expressive languages, which have found fulfillment through my work as a teacher at kindergarten. The meeting with the children helped me to understand that enhancing the potential of every being is the starting point for every possible learning. Fascinated by the discourse "of the natural trace "(Arno Stern, the game of painting, the Closlieù), I wanted to resume my "signs" and return to drawing schools. I met many teachers and a Master who, in me, left a significant mark, Carlo Maria Re.
“Thanks to two very nice friends who had a special stationery shop until November 2020 (Carta & Penna in Borgomanero) I played to make an exhibition of my “signs” between diaries and fountain pens.
In this funny game, I shared my emotions with people I know and I don't know.
And so I took the little girl I was and I am by the hand and I created, in the most significant place of my emotional ties (my parents' old kitchen) a small laboratory of signs.
